Auction Thanks

Crouch End Auction for Edinburgh Direct Aid – Friday 21st April 2017
We had a fantastic evening last Friday at the auction and EDA are over the moon at the result of such amazing generosity from all those who donated bid items and from all those who bid so generously on the night.
EDA would especially like to thank Jo, Sharon and Rachel for organising and planning this event – no small task over a number of weeks. It all came together brilliantly on the night.
Also great thanks go to John Newton, the compere who kicked things off at the start and kept the evening running smoothly.
Matthew Nimmo, the auctioneer was an absolute star. Apart from being extremely witty and funny he managed to push bids to the maximum very skilfully – we think he’s missed his vocation! He looked exhausted at the end! Thanks also go to Richard for looking after all the technical aspects and to all the people who gave up time to prepare the venue and clear away afterwards.
The amount raised, although not finalised yet, far exceeds any expectation and for a small organisation like EDA, this money will be absolutely vital for our aim of opening a new refugee voational training centre in the Lebanon/Syrian border town of Arsal.
Thank you everyone!  It was such fun!

Maggie
